Avon kept me up most of the night this kid is going to turn into a serious gun nut, he was asking questions until the early AM, some quite profound for a kid his age. He seems to have an interested in weapons tech, mainly in the defence side reactive armour and defence if weapons.

Anyway, Jinx seems to be going through hell at the moment, she never tells me what he is up to its usually ‘Here’s Avon, I’ll be back in a week or so.’ I guess she enjoys it. At the moment she is heading to one of the Subversive States to find out who has been organising raids on the city, as it would seem they have a way of taking people NeuroSys and using them avoiding deactivation.

Good on em I say, anything that dents the Hyper Corporation’s is a good thing that Cromwell Jackson needs taking down a peg or two. Anyway here is the first few posts form Jinx I’m sure there will be more. But it seems last night left her in a pickle.

If you get chance to read this Jinx, don’t get killed I really don’t want to be stuck with Avon.

Jinx’s updates: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

Jinxie is off reporting on something happening on the borders of the subversive states, I hope she is having fun. But she has left me in charge of Avon, her son. I don’t hate the kid, but he is at that stage in life when the only question on his lips is WHY? It’s driving me nut, at time is great because it can open new door having to explain something to a kid. But most of the time I want to drive a screwdriver through his temple.

Okay I’m not that kind of shit-head and Jinx knows it otherwise she wouldn’t leave Avon with me, but I think you get my drift of how something can be fucking irritation and fantastically liberating at the same time.

Anyway Avon seems to be happy at the moment, he’s online playing some game or other with his friends, not sure what it is never gone in for gaming myself. At least he hasn’t taken up hacking yet, Jinx has that yet to come.

I’m thinking of taking Avon out on the town tonight, teach him a few survival skills maybe find some ally we can use as a shooting range. Hey don’t blame me this city will eat you alive if you’re not ready I’m only showing the kid what he needs to reach his 30th birthday.

That’s the end of another week, and what a fun an messed up week it’s been. While Jinx was keeping yawl updated on the events outside my window I created an encyclopaedia for all you folks out in the subversive states. I know the world and technology has left you behind, but at least you have electricity.

Well the start outside is clear of bodies, only blood stains and half digested crap show that there was an Infraflux sale out there. Hey I can wait, I know min is at least two seasons out of date, but who’s counting, fashion is a fickle thing, and to me it’s a waste of good storage space.

I was thinking of that dream again, not sure why, but after talking to Farve and a few others it seem that anyone who was at Dr. Cameron’s, 2090 conference has been having similar experiences. Probably some shit the put in the drinks.

The following day the Jackson Cromwell Syndicate announced a new daily record. While the new InfraFlux 12.2 wasn’t quite up to some people expectations, but any bad reviews were quickly suppressed. The advertising campaign had been prefect and the media coverage had been unparalleled. The final body count at the community recycling centre was 1742, not quite as high as the mainframe server crash last year, but then that would have taken some doing. The news reports that day said everything that MaxiCom could have hoped for.

The death count had now hit 1565 and climbed by the minute, but still more hopeful shoppers arrived.

Then with less than thirty minutes to go, the Blackwatch had to take action, as it had been decided that a large proportion of the crowd had to be incapacitated for their own safety. The action got the crowds down to a more stable number.

With ten minutes remaining, the staff in the store could stand the pressure no longer and the security field was disengaged, which in turn resulted in those at the front of the queue been swashed up against the shop front, much to the delight of the watching audiences around the world. The counter made it to a nice round 1700; but not for very long.

Loud music by the latest TechMix programme pumped out into the streets and with very little ceremony the new MaxiCom Multi-Megastore finally opened. The scream of joy and relief could be felt throughout the whole of the city.

With two hours to go the death toll stood at 193 , Blackwatch and the military units controlled by the Jackson Cromwell Syndicate were getting slightly nervous, as bunch of Anarchists from over the divide, had made an almost successful attempt at breaking down the security barriers around the new store with the help of a bunch of rogue Technophiles. Reports of the attempted hack job had leaked in CyberSpace, along the rumour that it had been partially successful and that a thousand of the InfraFlux 12.2 had been stolen. The waiting crowds were furious and the resulting riots exploded in a sea of high yield Plasma and Quantomic rounds. The blast was quickly contained by the cities defences, but the hole it left behind would take days to fix. MaxiCom’s representatives quickly played down the rumour of the robbery, but it was definitely an awkward chink in Cromwell Jackson ’s success vectors for the day.

With a little over 30 hours until store opening, the first death was detected. The resulting electronic media frenzy was quickly dispersed; as the man in question had died of a power failure that resulted in his heart shutting down.

Despite that slight disappointment, the reporter drones stayed in place, their controllers twitching merrily away at a suitably safe distance. They didn’t have to wait for long for chaos to break out once again.

The media and advertising guys set loose their new campaign, across every media network and net connection simultaneously, by cunningly hijacking the signals of the other two Hyper Corporations using the DQAS.

MaxiCom had announced their opening offer!

The First Two Thousand Customers at the New MaxiCom store will get all accessorises at Half Price!

MaxiCom © – Jackson Cromwell Syndicate

The already manic crowd queuing outside the stores was swiftly joined by thousands more; all desperately trying to be the first to get the opening offer.

As the now hysterical masses surged forward, the body count on the news channels ticked into life. Within half an hour it stood at 23 dead and 78 injured. The ratings were booming!

The new Multi-Megastore was opening on Main Street and just at the right time. As the crippling production crisis was in full swing; the unthinkable happening – supplies of the latest gadget had dried up, causing mass panic in the population. MaxiCom’s new store had somehow secured a whole batch of the InfraFlux 12.2, which were now to be available in seventeen different colours and with a multitude of new accessories!

Queuing started some two weeks in advance, as no pre-orders or net based sales were being allowed. Demand was at an all time high, adverts for the new gadgets were now been shown every ten minutes on all networks, emails had been sent to all unhacked recipients in a hundred miles radius of the store. So when the police put out an all points bulletin, which required all units to be fully mobilised some thirty-six hours before the stores opening, MaxiCom knew their new Dynamic Quantum Advertising System (DQAS) had worked perfectly and they planned to test it again before the opening.

Well Dal is sleeping now, he looks like shit but with the riot brewing outside and the possibility of a raid anytime now I can’t blame him.

Not having a NeuroSys interface on this machine is gonna make for something interesting. I just have to say it Typeing it’s weird.

Well MaxiCom opens in about 125 hours and then things get interesting. I hope all you Blanks out there reading this at least appreciate the effort of what we’re trying to do. How do you guys live without a NeuroSys?
